Descaling Assembly

The pump bypass is used in periods of low demand to prevent the pump from slipping.

The use of a descaling valve logic element allows greater controllability for the pump bypass operation. Typically a proportion of the total flow is passed through a venting valve and orifice to the tank. A number of orifices are used to help reduce the effects of erosion.

The venting valve in this case receives the flow required to close the valve from the main supply line. However due to the nature of descaling water it must be filtered first to prevent any build up of particles either inside the directional control valve or within the vent valve itself.

Summary of advantages

  • Controlled opening and closing of pump bypass valve
  • High pressure filtration
  • Multiple chokes in breakdown pack reduce erosion for longer life
  • Reduction in erosion effects
