| The following are a few of the applications that the EPC is capable of: |
- Flow Control
- Flow Control with pressure limit
- Flow Control with system Horse Power Limit
- Pressure Control
- Pressure Control with Flow Preset
- Closed Loop Speed Control
- Load Sense Control

Flow Control
This function block generates an output to the pump or valve that is proportional to the input command. The output device can utilize feedback or operate open loop. The input signal has scaling and ramp capabilities if required.

| Flow Control with Pressure Limit |
This function block generates an output to the pump or valve that is proportional to the input flow command. If the system pressure sensed at the pressure transducer exceeds the pressure command set point the output flow command will be reduced by a programmable amount. The output device can utilize feedback or operate open loop. The input signal(s) have scaling and ramp capabilities if required.

| Flow Control with System Horsepower Limit |
This function block generates an output to the pump or valve that is proportional to the input flow command. The system horsepower is calculated using the flow command and the system pressure. If the calculated horsepower exceeds the set point value the flow is reduced holding the motor to its maximum horsepower. This calculated horsepower control is much less expensive than current transducers on the electric motor. The output device can utilize feedback or operate open loop. The input signal(s) have scaling and ramp capabilities if required.

| Pressure Control |
This function block generates an output to the pump or valve that is proportional to the error between the input command and the pressure feedback. The output device can utilize feedback or operate open loop. The input signal(s) have scaling and ramp capabilities if required.

| |
| Pressure Control with Flow Preset |
This function block generates an output to a pump or valve that is proportional to the error between the input commanded pressure and the actual pressure feedback input up to the flow command source. Once the preset flow command is reached the output will no longer increase with pressure demand. The function will also switch between pressure and flow control when a programmable switch point is reached. During the pressure control the function will reduce the output command to reduce pressure overshoot. The input signals have scaling and ramp capabilities.

| Closed Loop Speed Control |
The function block titled “Advanced Control with Feed-Forward” can be used to perform closed loop speed control of a machine. The function block in the open loop mode, generates an output to the pump or valve that is proportional to the input command. When closed loop control is selected the input command is compared to the machine velocity transducer. The error between the two is added or subtracted from the feed forward command. The input signal(s) have scaling and ramp capabilities if required.

| Load Sense Control |
This function block generates an output to the pump or valve to supply a constant flow independent of load changes. This is accomplished by maintaining a constant pressure drop across an orifice. This orifice can be a fixed device or part of a valve. The control also monitors the down stream system pressure, if it exceeds a preset value the output flow command is reduced. The input signal(s) have scaling and ramp capabilities if required.
